One of the leading design offices in the nuclear industry performing integrated development of nuclear steam-raising units and reactors of various types (water-cooled and water-moderated, gas-cooled, fast neutron); carries out design, maintenance of production, mounting and operation; manufactures specific types of equipment for nuclear power engineering; petrochemistry and petroleum-refining; shipbuilding and chemical industries, including circulating pumps, shutoff, control and safety valves, heat-exchange equipment, etc. For over 60 years of its existence, OKBM participated in the creation of about 500 nuclear reactors and steam-raising units, hundreds of types of high-duty equipment for nuclear industry, power engineering, navy and civil fleet. The achievements of OKBM have been rewarded with high state awards — the Orders of Lenin and the October Revolution. At present the design office is taking part in the construction of the first floating nuclear power plant in Severodvinsk, the fourth power unit of Beloyarsk NPP, and a new generation of nuclear submarines.
